Displaying your RSS Feed Count: What is the Big Deal?

Recently I’ve read a few articles on Displaying your Feedburner Subscriber Count. I never really saw the problem. I thought displaying 40 or 50 readers was good. I mean think about it, on top of the average 200 unique visitors we get per day, that’s about an extra 40 people just reading our content, per day.Good right? Wrong.

Should You Register Your Website in Directories?

Amwart.Com has purchased a review, not of their website, but they want me to discuss why you should join web directories. I've been reading about them recently, and have considered creating my own. I hope you agree with my thoughts on the benefits of joining directories.

Website Directories seem to get a bad rap when it comes to bloggers. They seem to feel it's not worth their time, because there is no traffic to prove it is beneficial. Many have written off directories all together, including me until recently, but there is something to gain from them.

A web directory gives you a free link to your website or blog. The more you have the better, right? The best way to build traffic to your website, is by creating back links to it. By doing so, there are more websites pointing at your website. Not only does that favor for search engines, but it also builds your page ranks. The best directories to join are ones with a page rank. Currently Amwart.com has a page rank of 3, which should also go up the next google page rank update. So by registering to their directory, I will get a pr3 website linking to me, all for free.

The best, and last, thing about directories, are that they are manually edited. This blog is now under review to join amwart, and should hopefully be approved. They do this, so spam sites are excluded, and they will only include quality websites.

Text Message Your Bids at Bid4Prizes.com

Bid4prizes.com is definitely an interesting website. I've heard of websites like these, but never really took them that seriously. Basically they offer you a chance to get 'free gifts' and cash prizes simply by having the lowest unique bid. Unique bid just means that no one else can bid the same amount as you. So if you are the only one to bid 55 cents, and thats the lowest 'unique' total, you win.

They offer prizes like HDTV's, IPhones, etc. What bothers me about this site are two things. First, you must text message your bid. Second, you can win a car for 1.75$. Until I would actually win, with no strings attached, it seems to good to be true.

Ghost Afterlife

I am going to try a little something different here. My blogs have been far from personal. Just about blogging, earning money, other blogs, you get the idea. I have been mulling over the idea of a new website, featuring my old poetry, song lyrics, and other bloggers poetry as well. To try to test out how good the response is, I am going to post a few poems here and on Blog about your Blog.

Comments are encouraged. Thank you.

Ghost Afterlife
3/25/04

Like a ghost
You see right through me
Invisible to your sight,
but I’m here

Like a ghost
You walk right through me
I’m undetectable from your touch,
but I’m here

Like a ghost
You can’t hear me
My words have fallen deaf to your ears,
but I’m here

Like a ghost
You can feel my presence
but your not sure if I’m real
I’ve been overlooked, but I’m here

Like a ghost, you can reach through my body
Which you've already done
And pull out my non-existent heart
Which you've already broken

All I am now is a ghost
Trying not to disappear
Piece by piece I start to vanish
Trying to hold on, to my afterlife

Just Say Hi Dating Website

Just Say Hi emphasizes that their one dating website is free. Many other websites require, credit cards, yearly or monthly memberships, etc.

On their web page it reads:
Meet thousands of fun, attractive, men and women in your area on our totally FREE online dating site. No gimmicks, no tricks. Stop paying for online dating now. Join our site and browse online personals from thousands of sexy singles who've discovered the benefits of free online dating and matchmaking. Why wait?

What I also found on their main page was a sample of their newest members. What was even worse was that these members had several typo's. If I was looking for a date, I would want someone who could spell. Not JustSayHi's fault, but a turn-off nonetheless. I would suggest featuring quality members, or really active members instead. It might give it a better first impression.

Their competition is with other dating websites, like eHarmony, but they feel they are the best.

I've noticed many other bloggers posting about this, they are really trying to get the word out about their site.

Insurance Portal Online

Insurance seems to be a big deal for anyone, especially in the United States. Personally, I am not insured at the moment. Blogging definitely hasn't provided me enough income to buy insurance, and I don't have a full-time job to qualify.

If you are like me, but financially more comfortable, you can visit a website like Insurance Portal Online for your insurance. They sell all types of different insurance like Life Insurance, Auto Insurance and Homeowners Policies.

Just like any other site, they guarantee the best rates. All I can say is see for yourself, tell them we sent you, and have a look around!

Almost all those holding financially stable situation prefer buying insurance for one thing or the other. Generally all of them do hold auto insurance and perform an annual research to find the most cheap auto insurance. A majority of them go for home insurance also and find the online means of instant home insurance quite affordable, less messy and more reliable for any likely home insurance claim.

London Advertising Directory

Directories seem to be in full overload these days. There are tons of directories. I think the more successful ones may be the specific ones. I found one that is just for London Advertising. They have 1020 links in 58 categories all related with advertising in some form or another. You can find websites that are advertising agencies, offer photography services, and marketing.
What I found that I didn't like was that it would cost money to add your website to their directory. When you try to "suggest a link" you are prompted with the information and the box is checked for a 'sponsored link'. However, they do have things that can get your website found easier within the directory. Top Links and Popular Links are just two of the ways to be noticed in this directory. If this is your niche, this directory may be worth consideration.
