Find out how addicted to blogging you are at Mingle2
Addiction to blogging can be attributed, to some extent, to the availability of broadband online means enabling bloggers to do their work while being on the move. To further facilitate the phenomenon of communication is internet telephone service that has eliminated the geographic distances by internet phone. A number of voip companies are wowing the customers with high quality and cost effective services through voip software and the minimal physical equipment needed (skype phone).

Melbourne Australia
I have seen lots of things promoting Australia lately, from TV to the Internet. I have heard of only several cities there, one being Melbourne. Melbourne is Australia's second largest city. It is the region's leading culture centre with Australia's best cuisine.
Anyone planning to travel to Melbourne, should research some great hotels in Melbourne. CheaperThanHotels.com is offering great rates, and cheap hotels in Melbourne. From one star, to 5 star hotels, they have them all. All of the rates appear to be competitive.

John Chow dot Com, a blog that helps you make money is giving away a 24″ wide screen LCD monitor! To enter, you just have to write about it. This is my entry that I pretty much just copied from John Chow's Blog. Pretty easy isn't it? The contest is sponsored by BlueFur, who wants to let you know that they’re hosting Canada and the rest of the world.
Bluefur is also doing another LCD Monitor giveaway. All you have to do is vote for them at bloggers choice awards for best blogging host (which I've already done) and you can win. You can also receive bonus entries for blogging about the competition, like I am.

Burn Notice
With the new TV season, there are many new shows starting. It seems the reality shows are taking over, while series such as CSI are off for a few months.
To combat this here comes USA Network's Burn Notice. Michael Weston is a CIA Operative who will be fired.
What will he be fired for? Possibly sleeping with the enemy? That would be juicy. Or is he a double agent, playing both sides? Perhaps he won't be fired at all, and will have to prove his innocence? You can find out why he was really fired by going to the website.
I'm not sure if I will be watching this show, however it looks like it might just be another hit. As I mentioned before CSI and those type of series have been really successful, and addictive.
Burn Notice will premier Thursday June 27th at 10 est on the USA Network. The stars of the show are Gabrielle Anwar, Bruce Campbell, and Sharon Gless.
Burn notice will premier Thursday June 27th at 10 est on the USA Network.
Another little piece of info. Are you now wondering what a Burn Notice is? I have the definition right here:
1. An official statement by one intelligence agency to other agencies, domestic or foreign, that an individual or group is unreliable.
Are you going to be watching this show?

Pay Day Cash Advance
Pay Day Cash Advances can get you out of a pinch. Say your bill is due before your check comes, you can get a cash advance. I would assume the fees are high, but if you took out a 500$ cash advance and paid it back in a week, your fees would only be about 40$. PayDayCashAdvanceLoans.Biz offer fast payday loans in your area. They seem to offer them everywhere, even in San Diego where I am.

It doesn't matter who my father was; it matters who I remember he was
I didn't have anything to blog about and I knew I wanted to get fathers day in there. I thought it would be interesting to see which website came up number one for the google search term "happy fathers day". In that search I found Wilstar.com.
I found some great father/dad quotes, like my title. That was said by Anne Sexton. The quote is especially important to me I think because I lost my father a few years ago, right when I started college. I was only 18, and we had a lot of problems over the years as I grew up.
Now I have a son of my own, so I guess fathers day is still a day I can celebrate.
"A man knows when he is growing old because he begins to look like his father." -- Gabriel Garcia Marquez
"I cannot think of any need in childhood as strong as the need for a father's protection." -- Sigmund Freud
"Blessed indeed is the man who hears many gentle voices call him father!" -- Lydia M. Child
"It is a wise father that knows his own child." -- William Shakespeare
And a little bit of fathers day history
President Calvin Coolidge, in 1924, supported the idea of a national Father's Day. Then in 1966 President Lyndon Johnson signed a presidential proclamation declaring the 3rd Sunday of June as Father's Day. President Richard Nixon signed the law which finally made it permanent in 1972.

Lucky 7s
As many bloggers know, Pay Per Post has received 7 million dollars in funding from investors. PayPerPost received 3 million earlier this year, the newest investment brings the total up to about 10 million. For those doubting PayPerPost, this is a sign that they won't be going anywhere, anytime soon.
Press Release:
In the existence of PayPerPost, they have developed quite a following and loyalty due to their blog ethics. To reward the posties Pay Per Post is running a 7 day promotion called the Lucky 7's.
For 7 days (until next tuesday) they are allocating 7,000 dollars in opportunity's to blog about payperpost. The amounts will be 10.77$ (which this post is), 70$ and 700$. I have seen at least two of the 700 dollar opps, but they were already reserved by the time I saw them.
I definitely think PPP is doing a great thing by having these opps. I would definitely like to see more opps though. Instead of a bulk 700$ offer, I would love to see 7! 100 dollar offers. There are so many posties, its really tough to even have a shot at these exclusive opps. It's nice to reward those that have been supporting payperpost for a while now, but I do think it is better to "share the wealth"

Blogging Marketplace Secures $7 Million Series B
Draper Fisher Jurvetson leads round and joins Board of Directors
ORLANDO, FL – (June 12, 2007) – PayPerPost, the leading marketplace for advertisers to reach bloggers and other consumer content creators, today announced it has completed a $7 million second round investment led by Draper Fisher Jurvetson, an investor in the company's Series A and one of the world’s leading high-technology venture capital firms. The financing brings the total amount of capital raised by PayPerPost to over $10 million, giving the company considerable resources for further development as the industry’s leading Consumer Generated Advertising marketplace. Additional participants in the round include existing investors Inflexion Partners and Village Ventures as well as new investor DFJ Gotham. With this investment, DFJ Managing Director Josh Stein also joins PayPerPost’s Board of Directors.
“PayPerPost created this exciting new advertising space and has established itself as the industry leader,” said Ted Murphy, chief executive officer of PayPerPost. “Although we’ve only used a portion of our first round capital, this added support from investors unlocks significant growth potential. Our content creator and advertiser ROI metrics clearly demonstrate the upside for PayPerPost’s model. We intend to use this capital to build the infrastructure, visibility and professional expertise necessary to reach and retain a greater network of advertisers and content creators than ever before.”
Since its founding in June of 2006, PayPerPost has signed more than 6,500 advertisers to its groundbreaking service, which has enabled Consumer Content Creators to be compensated for their efforts discussing specific companies, products or services via blogs, videos or other media. The content creators are required to disclose relationships with advertisers on their blog, providing transparency for the end reader. Over 125,000 Internet postings, most in the form of blogs, have already earned money for their creators through PayPerPost’s innovative marketplace. PayPerPost recently released PayPerPost Direct, a disruptive new service that allows advertisers to contract and negotiate directly with individual bloggers they identify through a safe, managed system.
“PayPerPost has laid a strong foundation for the future,” noted Tim Draper, founder and managing director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson. “It continues to attract a critical mass of participants from both the advertising and blogging communities. Analogous to Overture’s sponsored search model, we believe PayPerPost’s business model holds disruptive potential and will enable the company to thrive in the evolving paid-content arena.”
To mark the $7 million dollar funding, PayPerPost has launched a new website detailing the company’s service offering at http://www.payperpost.com. Bloggers and advertisers can easily sign up at the site and begin leveraging the self service marketplace.

What's Your Big Digg?
Top 10 Tech Web Tips is asking what is your big digg?
They want to know what your biggest digg has been. Which article have you received the most diggs on?
I've recently been promoting my articles on digg, with mild success. I haven't reached front-page stardom yet, but I fully intend to.
The most diggs we have received on an article at Blog about your Blog is about 65. Make HotLinking Work for You currently has 68 diggs, and was very close to the front page. We did still receive a bit of traffic for our efforts.
Currently I am pushing an article I wrote about Alexa. Increasing your Alexa Rank Free! has 25 diggs at the time of this post. I am just realizing now I should have named it, How to Lower Your Alexa Ranking Free, but thats okay.
Don't forget to head on over to top 10 web tips, and let them know your biggest digg. If anything you will receive a digg out of it from me, and some link love (do follow blog).

1408 Movie Review and Trailer
Stephen King really hasn't interested me too much as I'm not really into scary movies. I've only really liked a few scary movies, but not from Stephen King. However I have seen several of his movies, and of course they are classics. Movies such as Misery, Thinner and It are all-time movies to some, especially my girl friend. She makes me watch all of them.
The next movie coming out in the saga of Stephen King movies is going to be the 1408 Movie. It will be a short story turned into a movie. I've never heard of... until now.
After watching the trailer this may be a movie that I will see and enjoy from Stephen King's work. The movie is starring John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson. Cusack daughter dies, and he spends years trying to contact the afterlife and ghosts. He then receives a mysterious post card about the room 1408.
Now enters Samuel L Jackson.
He is the hotel manager and explains that there have been 56 deaths in room 1408 and advises Cusack not to stay there. Of course... he stays in the room, and then the craziness starts.
If you haven't heard of the movie, here is the trailer. Enjoy! Tell me what you think.

Well today I got an email stating that I was a finalist in one of the contests I entered. It's only for a t-shirt but it will still be fun to win.
The prize is from DealKing.
At the time of this post there is 4 hours left and I'm tied for the lead, thanks to some people from the PPP Forum.

The News Room
I just signed up to The News Room and this website may be very beneficial to me for the next couple of months.
I know Youtube is going to try to pay members for popular videos, but The News Room is paying for all videos. Just by putting their videos on your website you can get paid. Unless it is a highly trafficked website, you won't receive much but it's something (CPM start at 1$)
Say I get 1,000 impressions on this video about Paris Hilton going to jail
I would then receive 3$ from The News Room. Also, anyone who "mashed it" and put it on their website, would make even more money. I don't see this as a get rich thing obviously, but I could definitely see earning a few extra dollars with this. By publishing several videos and news feeds on your websites that you would write about anyways, this is a nice addition to that.
The News ROom has hundreds of fully licensed stories that you can publish, so you don't have to worry about 'stealing' or recording one of your own. You don't have to worry about copy right infringement like on Youtube.
Apparently you can also win prizes from TNR (TheNewsRoom). I haven't seen to much about that on their website, but maybe it's a brand new feature. They call it a "loyalty" thing, so the prizes may be reserved for members who use their program a lot.

It’s Not Always About Traffic
While getting traffic to your site definitely is important, what is more important is what you do with the traffic that does come into your site. Meaning, what is your conversion rate? If you have 100 visits per day, how many people do you convert into regular readers?
